Are we harsh on Pluto

Well I guess majority of the population alive know Pluto as planet of our Solar system. The definition of planet when Pluto was discovered made it planet.

Now what are the changes made to the previous planet definition or what is new definition, which demoted Pluto.

So are we really harsh on Pluto?
